  2. Think about smart phones, like the iPhone. Do you consider them computers? Why or why not?
  3. Do you think the desktop computer will become less common in the future? If so, what will replace it? If not, why not?
  4. Research Time! Go online and find a computer that is currently for sale. This can be a desktop, a notebook or a tablet. Now tell the class what kind of computer it is, how much it costs, which manufacturer made it and any other information you can (storage space, processor speed and so on). Would you like to buy this computer? Why or why not?
  5. Are you good with computers? If so, tell the class something interesting you have learned to use a computer for. If not, would you like to learn how to program a computer or design web pages?
  6. Do you think people rely too much on computers these days? Explain your answer.

  1. Yes, I own a Macbook Pro laptop. I bought it four years ago. It’s getting a little old.
  2. I think they are computers. They don’t have a keyboard but they can do almost everything that a computer can do.
  3. I think that the desktop computer won’t be less common in the future. We work at our desks so we will still need desktops. They will get faster and become smaller.
  4. I found a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 online for ¥30,000. It is a notebook style computer four gigabytes of RAM and a sixty-four gigabyte hard drive. It seems like a good computer for the price but I’d rather buy a tablet.
  5. No, I’m not. I would like to learn how to make web pages as I think this would be a handy skill to have in the future.
  6. I don’t think people rely too much on computers. I think that we need to use them every day but we could live without them.
