  4. Would you rather go to the beach or the mountains on vacation? Why?
  5. Which do you think is better, taking a few short trips every year or one long vacation every year? Why do you think so?
  6. Tell the class about the best vacation you ever had. Where did you go? Who did you go with? How long did you stay? What did you do there? How was the weather? If you've never been on vacation, tell the class about where you would like to go and what you imagine it would be like.

  1. Beppu, in Oita prefecture in Kyushu. November is the best time of year to visit. You can enjoy the hot springs and eat chicken tempura.
  2. No, I haven't. I would like to go there eventually. It sounds lovely.
  3. About once or twice a year, for about two or three days. We usually visit my grandmother in Kyushu during Obon and New Year.
  4. I would rather go to the beach. I like fishing, swimming and other water activities. Camping and hiking is not for me.
  5. I think one long vacation a year is better. Having a week to relax and unwind makes a lot of sense to me.
  6. My best vacation ever was last year. I went to Tokyo with my family for six days. We went shopping in Shinjuku and Akihabara. We also went to Disneyland for one day and then to DisneySea the next day. The weather was perfect the whole time.
